Yusuf Dikeç, our national athlete who made a global impact at the Paris Olympics, continues to stay in the spotlight with his unique shooting stance. Alongside his partner, Şevval İlayda Tarhan, Dikeç brought home a silver medal for Turkey, and the world is buzzing about his posture. Now, a debate has sparked between Elon Musk and Yusuf Dikeç about robots. Here are the details…
Elon Musk: “Robots will always hit the bullseye”
Dikeç, who won the silver medal for Turkey with a shot made with his hand in his pocket and without protective glasses or ear protection, caught the attention of Elon Musk with a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Dikeç tweeted, “Hello Elon, do you think future robots will be able to win medals at the Olympics with their hands in their pockets? How about discussing this in Istanbul, the cultural capital that bridges continents?” Musk quickly responded, saying, “Robots will always hit the bullseye. I look forward to visiting Istanbul, one of the most wonderful cities in the world,” accepting Dikeç’s invitation.
Despite not winning gold, Dikeç garnered more attention than the first-place Serbian team. He has been involved in shooting sports for 24 years and attributes his success to hard work and discipline. Dikeç, who holds 5 World and 4 European Championships, mentioned that he shoots with his hand in his pocket to maintain better stability and balance. He also stated his goal of winning the gold medal in 2028 and that he plans to work even harder.
